2025 TASC Annual Conference

The Texas Association of Specialty Courts (TASC) will host the 2025 TASC Annual Training Conference from March 24-26, 2025, at the Omni Corpus Christi. This conference is anticipated to draw more than 500 attendees and bring together all specialty court types to learn the latest evidence-based practices for serving individuals with substance use and mental health disorders in the justice system.
TASC is seeking proposals for sessions/workshops that present best practices in service delivery; collaboration and justice programming that enhance outcomes for participants in specialty courts, including adult, juvenile, and family drug courts; DWI Courts; mental health courts; veterans treatment courts. TASC strongly encourages proposals for sessions that present research findings and their impact on practice, feature data analysis, and highlight evidence-based practice implementation.
While TASC will accept and schedule sessions that cover a wide range of topics, we are especially interested in:
- Trauma Informed Care (Adult and Juvenile)
- Family Engagement Across All Court Types
- Adjusting Sanctions, Incentives, and Therapeutic Justice
- Importance of Data Collection, How To Collect It, and How To Use It for Continuous Quality Improvement (Adult and Juvenile)
- Adult Best Practice Standards and How to Apply the Standards to All Court Types
- Recovery Capital and Best Practices Supporting Using Recovery Coaches
- Comprehensive Treatment Planning (Adult and Juvenile)
- Clinical Treatment Modalities Serving Justice-involved Veterans
- How To Gain Community Engagement in Veterans Treatment Courts
- Cognitive Processing Therapy for Justice-involved Veterans
- Utilizing Peer Mentors and VJOs in Veterans Treatment Courts
The selection process is competitive. Proposals will be selected based on their relevance to the field; ability to address cross-functional policy/program areas; engaging format; interactive design; style, clarity, and originality; relevance to a national audience; and the subject matter expertise and training experience of the presenters.

Length
Sessions are 1 hour in length.
Panels
If proposing a panel format, a maximum of three (3) panelists and one (1) moderator is allowed.
Course Description
When completing the "Course Description" portions of the application, please craft language that could be used in the mobile app to describe your session. If your application is accepted, this section of your proposal may be included in the mobile app.
Handouts
2025 TASC Conference speakers agree to provide TASC with preliminary electronic copies of any handout materials for their session(s) no later than Monday, February 3, 2025. All handouts will be submitted to state accreditation boards for continuing education credit approval. Presenters also agree to provide TASC with final electronic copies of any slide decks and/or handout materials for their session(s) no later than Monday, March 3, 2025. All materials, in PDF format, will be made available to attendees on the 2025 TASC Conference mobile app.
Registration
TASC speakers are expected to register for the conference and pay for their own travel/lodging expenses, unless otherwise stated. Speakers receive a discounted registration fee of $115.
Publication
TASC may publish part or all of the proceedings of this conference. By presenting at TASC, you agree that TASC has the right to include your presentation in a future publication and/or on its websites if TASC so chooses. You are not precluded from publishing your material elsewhere, nor is TASC obligated to include it in any book, monograph, scholarly journal, or other communication that may arise from this conference.

Please note that all submissions must include your specific requests for audio/visual equipment.
Confirmation & Acceptance
All applicants will receive a confirmation email verifying the receipt of submission. Incomplete applications will not be accepted and will be returned to the sender for completion.
